Charter

Misool Luxury Yacht CharterPrivate Phinisi from Sorong

A Misool luxury yacht charter gives your group the whole vessel: crew, chef, dive guides and your own itinerary. Three tiers cover more than 60 yachts: superyachts over 50 m, luxury phinisi 35 to 50 m and boutique yachts under 35 m. Charters embark in Sorong, run seven nights minimum and cost USD 6,400 to 35,000 per yacht, per night.

The price frame in brief: per yacht, per night

Private charters in Misool and the rest of Raja Ampat are priced per yacht, per night. The range runs from USD 6,400 to USD 35,000, and the whole vessel is yours at either end of it. Where you land depends on the yacht, her guest capacity and the season. There is a 7-night minimum, and every charter starts and ends in Sorong.

The arithmetic is simpler than it looks. Seven nights on a ten-guest phinisi at the entry rate is USD 44,800 for the whole yacht. Shared across ten guests, that is about USD 640 per guest, per night, with crew, chef, every meal and dive equipment already inside the number. Seven nights on Lamima, the largest yacht in the catalogue, is USD 189,000 for fourteen guests, or roughly USD 1,930 per guest, per night.

The final figure is prepared by the charter desk once the yacht, the dates and the number of guests are fixed. Published rates are the starting point, not the quote. For a fuller breakdown of how the number moves between yachts and months, see Misool yacht charter prices per yacht per night.

What the charter rate includes, and what sits outside it

A crewed Misool charter is close to all-inclusive, and it helps to know exactly where the line sits before you compare it with anything else. The rate covers the entire yacht and her crew, a private chef and all meals, dive guides, tenders, snorkel and standard dive gear, and the transfer between Sorong airport and the yacht. Whether fuel for the agreed route sits inside the rate is confirmed in the quote. Nothing on board is shared with strangers.

Five items sit outside the rate on every yacht. The Raja Ampat conservation card is a government fee charged per person; the most consistently reported 2026 figure is IDR 700,000, about USD 40, for foreign visitors, valid for twelve months, though some 2026 sources list a higher tariff, so confirm the current amount with the park authority before payment. Flights to Sorong are yours to arrange, or ours on request. Premium wines and spirits, crew gratuities, and dive courses or nitrox fills are billed separately when requested.

That is the usual list for a standard Sorong-to-Sorong charter. Where a particular yacht or route carries a port charge or a repositioning fee, it appears in the written quote before you confirm, never as a surcharge at the end, and the quote states each exclusion in writing. The detail on fees is in our guide to Misool and Raja Ampat permit fees.

Choose your tier: superyacht, luxury phinisi or boutique phinisi

We group the catalogue by length because length tracks almost everything else: deck space, cabin count, crew ratio and price. Three tiers cover the fleet. Each has its own page with the full list of yachts and their rates.

  • Superyacht, 50 m and above. Lamima, Prana by Atzaro, Dunia Baru, Vela and Silolona. Five to nine cabins, ten to eighteen guests, multiple decks and the largest crews in the catalogue. Published rates in this tier run from USD 11,600 to 27,000 per yacht, per night. See Misool superyacht charters above 50 m.
  • Luxury phinisi, 35 to 50 m. Alila Purnama, The Maj Oceanic and Kayra, with Otium and Samambaia alongside them. Four to nine cabins, eight to eighteen guests. Published rates in this tier run from USD 6,850 to 16,500 per yacht, per night. See Misool phinisi charters between 35 and 50 m.
  • Boutique phinisi, under 35 m. Rascal and Senja. Two to five cabins, four to ten guests, the right scale for a couple, a family or a small group of friends who want the whole boat without the empty cabins. See Misool boutique phinisi charters under 35 m.

Other well-known Raja Ampat names such as Amandira, Dewi Nusantara and Sequoia can be requested through the desk when they are open for the dates you want. Ask and we will confirm availability and the current rate.

Routes from Sorong: seven, ten and twelve nights

Sorong to central Misool is roughly 90 to 110 nautical miles, which at a phinisi’s 8 to 10 knots is 10 to 14 hours underway. Every route below treats that crossing as an overnight passage, so you board in the afternoon, dine at anchor, and wake up in Misool. The hours quoted are planning figures; tide, weather and reef-channel routing can add to them.

Misool only, seven nights

The minimum charter, and the one most guests choose. After the overnight crossing you spend five full days inside the Misool archipelago: Balbulol and the Wayil lagoons by tender, the Boo Windows and Four Kings dive sites, Magic Mountain for mantas between December and March, and the limestone caves on the sheltered side. The final night is the return passage to Sorong.

Misool and the Dampier Strait, ten nights

Three extra nights buy the current-fed reefs of the Dampier Strait on the way back. The yacht runs Sorong to Misool overnight, spends five days south, then works north through the central islands to the Dampier Strait before the short final leg into Sorong. It is the most balanced route for groups with both divers and non-divers.

Misool and Wayag, twelve nights

Misool to Wayag is a separate crossing of about 200 to 240 nautical miles, or 20 to 30 hours at cruising speed, so it needs more than one overnight passage. Twelve nights gives you four or five days in Misool, the Wayag karst lagoons in the far north, and the Dampier Strait in between without any day feeling cut short. Detailed day-by-day plans for all three are on our Misool and Raja Ampat north-plus-south route page.

Embarkation day: Sorong airport to the yacht

Sorong’s airport is Domine Eduard Osok, code SOQ. Direct flights arrive from Jakarta in about six to eight hours, from Makassar in about three hours twenty minutes, from Manado in about two hours twenty minutes and from Ambon in about an hour. Garuda Indonesia resumes the direct Bali to Sorong service on 25 October 2026 at about four hours, scheduled through March 2027; exact carriers and frequencies change by season, so confirm in the airline’s system.

Our crew meets you at the arrivals door and drives you to the harbor, where the yacht’s tender is waiting. The transfer is inside the charter rate. Boarding happens in the early afternoon, the safety and dive briefings follow, and the yacht sails in the evening for the overnight passage south. Most morning flights connect to a same-day departure; if yours lands late, a hotel in Sorong the night before departure is the quiet option and the desk will book it.

Flight routings, connections through Jakarta and Makassar, and what to do with a long layover are covered in how to get to Misool by air and sea.

Private charter or cabin booking: which suits your group

A private charter and a shared-cabin liveaboard reach the same lagoons on similar hulls. The difference is control. On a charter you set the departure date, the route, the pace, the menu, when the tenders launch and when the day ends. On a cabin booking the operator sets all of that, and the per-person price reflects the saving.

The crossover point is usually six to eight guests. Below that, a cabin on a luxury liveaboard at a per-person rate is often the better use of money, and we sell those too on our Misool luxury liveaboard cabin page. Above it, the private rate divided by your guest count starts to match or undercut the per-person cabin rate, with the whole yacht thrown in. Our comparison piece, book a cabin or charter the whole yacht, works through the numbers for groups of two to eighteen.

How to book: lead time, deposit and season

The charter season runs October through April. November to March is the most reliable window for calm crossings and 25 to 35 m visibility, and January to February combines the flattest seas with the strongest manta activity at the Misool cleaning stations. The south-east monsoon from May to September brings rougher water on the exposed passages south of Misool, and many yachts reposition elsewhere.

Flagship yachts such as Lamima, Prana by Atzaro and Dunia Baru are typically confirmed nine to twelve months ahead for peak dates, and the Christmas and New Year weeks go first. Mid-tier and boutique phinisi often have space at shorter notice. Booking is three steps: tell the desk your dates, group size and whether you dive; receive a written quote naming the yacht, the route and every exclusion; confirm with a deposit, with the balance due on the schedule stated in the charter agreement.

There is no form to fill in and no automated reply. A charter specialist answers on WhatsApp or by email, usually within the working day in Bali time. The full process is set out in how to book a Misool yacht charter, and the month-by-month picture is in the best time to visit Misool.

Misool luxury yacht charter questions

What is included in a private yacht charter from Sorong?

The whole yacht and crew, a private chef and all meals, dive guides, tenders, snorkel and standard dive equipment, and the transfer between Sorong airport and the yacht; fuel for the agreed route is confirmed in the quote. Outside the rate are the per-person Raja Ampat conservation card, flights to Sorong, premium alcohol, crew gratuities and any dive courses or nitrox you request.

What is the price of a private Misool yacht charter per night?

From USD 6,400 to USD 35,000 per yacht, per night, depending on the yacht, with a 7-night minimum from Sorong. Seven nights on a ten-guest phinisi at the entry rate is USD 44,800 for the whole yacht, about USD 640 per guest per night. The desk prepares the final figure once the yacht, dates and guest numbers are fixed.

How do I get from Sorong airport to a private yacht charter?

Our crew meets you at Domine Eduard Osok airport and drives you to the harbor, where the yacht’s tender takes you aboard. The transfer is included in the charter rate. Boarding is in the early afternoon, so morning flights from Jakarta, Makassar, Manado or Bali connect to a same-day departure and the overnight passage to Misool.

Can a private phinisi charter go directly from Sorong to Misool?

Yes. Charters on this page sail straight from Sorong to Misool on the first night, a 90 to 110 nautical mile passage of roughly 10 to 14 hours. You wake up inside the archipelago on day two. There is no need to transit Waisai or take a public ferry; the yacht is the transport.

What is the minimum number of nights for a private Misool yacht charter?

Seven nights. The overnight crossing in each direction uses two of them, leaving five full days in Misool, which is enough for the main lagoons, the cave sites and the headline dive sites. Ten nights adds the Dampier Strait; twelve nights adds Wayag in the far north without shortening the Misool days.

Which yacht is best for a private Misool charter?

For twelve or more guests, Lamima, Prana by Atzaro or Dunia Baru give the space and crew depth that large groups need. For eight to ten, Alila Purnama or Rascal balance privacy and rate. For two to four, Senja or a four-cabin yacht like Kayra avoids paying for empty cabins. Tell the desk your group and we will shortlist two or three.

Tell us your dates, your group size and whether you dive, and the charter desk will return a shortlist of yachts with a written quote. WhatsApp +62 811-3941-4563 or email [email protected]. Prefer a call? Use our contact page and we will schedule one.
